Braford
It was formed from the introduction, in the United States, Bos Indicus blood with rodeos Hereford. In this way, get a synthetic breed that combines the hardiness of the ZeBu and their adaptability to the environment, with the quality, efficiency, meekness and fertility of the Hereford. Although the majority of the Braford have 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Hereford, allows the breeders to change the proportion of blood as his commercial interest.
The race has some characteristics of the Brahman as they are: giba, loose skin, hair short and heat resistance. The Hereford inherits the color of the layer with the fur of face and white front.
It is characterized by its high production even in adverse environmental conditions, that translates into more efficient conversion of pasture into meat, greater resistance to diseases, lower selectivity to grazing, recognized fertility, ease of childbirth, maternal ability, longevity, docile temperament and a great plasticity.
