Charolais
Race native to the arrondissement of Charolles vaccine, in France. It is appreciated for its characteristic meat, low fat content derived from its past as a working breed. Today it is a meat breed.
They are uniform cream or white animals, with short horns or acornes, large size (1000 to 1400 kg for males 710 to 900 kg for females). It presents a large muscle mass with abundant mantle of meat in the rear quarters, where cuts of greater quality of meat flavor. It has been traditionally used in crosses with British breeds, especially Angus, in order to achieve bulls from better performance of meat from its lower fat content.
Cows are prized for their qualities as breeding: fertility and prolificacy (high rate of delivery of twins), good production of milk to feed the calf, very high speed of growth. It is a rustic animal, adapted to various conditions of breeding.
