The Limousin is a bovine breed originating in the south of France, mainly from the Limousin area. It has a coat or layer of sorrel red, that clears to the limbs and inside the belly. The horns are elliptical in shape and inserted behind the nape of the neck, and the mucous membranes have a pink hue. No stains. They have short heads, wide front and snout, short neck and a well-defined back quarter.
Its meat is characterized by its yield, its low fat coverage and good quality.
